Our story . . .
With the advent and proliferation of technology, we wanted to give people the chance to create something personal and unique which would also be enjoyable to do.
Everyone has the ability to create something worthwhile. Remember that just because what you have made does not fit the popular "fashion", it doesn't mean that it is "wrong". Even Picasso had his critics. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. There is no right or wrong . . . . . just different!
Based on a lifetime of experience we try to use as many natural materials as possible. We only use plastic when absolutely necessary. (For some reason you can't store paint in paper bags!) Where possible we recycle clean packaging discarded by other businesses, and use as little packaging as we can, while still protecting our products.
After many years doing markets, shows, galas, and fairs, the time has come to settle down to a central location. As well as supplying things to make and do, we can now offer classes in many activities, and even provide a venue for crafty parties, so we get to clean up the mess afterwards!
Why Us . . .
We try not to do what other people are doing, and have products which you can't get in too many other places. We don't see the point in copying what hundreds of other shops are doing. We also have lots of experience in all sorts of activities, so if we can't help you, we may be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.
We have craft workshops for many skills, and if we don't have a regular class in what you want to learn, if we can help, we are willing to do one-on-one sessions. It is all about keeping the old skills alive before they become extinct!
Our First EmployEe
Carol started Boredom Busters over 10 years ago with a few bits and pieces at markets. Since then we have grown like Topsy to where we are today in Taradale.
